A spec fashion film, Ode To The Yearning Field was shot on a historic convict-era farm in Tasmania's Northern Midlands, using original Titanic-era costume pieces in lieu of commercial fashion.
A homage to Peter Weir's classic film Picnic At Hanging Rock, we employed in-camera diffusion tricks like shooting through stockings, bridal veils, and glass to achieve a hazy, dreamlike effect. The eerie farm becomes a foreboding character as we follow a young woman’s dreamily languid musings, releasing herself from the constraints of her costume piece by piece.
